Our Services

Consulting & Advisory

We are trusted philatelic advisors to a worldwide clientele. From international exhibitors to discrete private collectors, we are available to provide counsel on collection focus, potential acquisitions, expertization options, valuations, and more. Our unique and complementary experience in international trade and commerce has allowed us to further serve as consultants to merchants and auction firms, providing strategic insight into business development, organizational structure, and financial analysis.

Selling Your Collection

We are enthusiastic buyers of quality stamps. Our emphasis is on purchasing in-depth, focused country collections and individual rarities of all countries, primarily from the earliest days of postal communication to the end of the First World War.

As a leading Canadian philatelic firm with an international clientele,  we are dedicated buyers of fine, rare, and unusual worldwide stamps and postal history. We seek out quality material for our clients, and welcome inquiries from those looking to sell their holdings.

While our interests are broad, we regret that we are not buyers of first day covers, childhood collections, or unsorted mixed accumulations.

You can find out more about areas we’re actively buying here.

Appraisals & Valuations

Whether for insurance, estate, or asset division purposes, we can provide comprehensive written appraisals of philatelic properties. As recognized leaders in our field, our appraisal services have been sought by national financial institutions, legal firms, and private collectors. We have also appraised material for donation to institutional collections.

Appraisal fees are charged on a strictly hourly basis. Fees begin at $150/hour + HST, plus expenses should the appraisal be conducted away from our premises.

Please note that, in order to ensure objectivity, we will not make offers to purchase collections which we have appraised.

Auction Representation

We are regular participants in philatelic auctions across North America and abroad. We review hundreds of catalogues annually, seeking out exceptional material for our clients.

As auction houses hold a responsibility to protect the interests of their consignors, collectors benefit from their own individual advisors and representatives. We are pleased to act on behalf of our clients, both in the execution of bids and in the review of  items for potential purchase. We can also advise on bidding levels, based on our daily involvement in the  philatelic market and knowledge of historic prices and market trends.

For those auctions which we are not able to attend in person, our international network of agents allows us to ensure that your interests can be professionally represented regardless.

Subject to a nominal minimum fee, our modest commission rates are based solely on a client’s successful bids. Please contract us for further information.

Retail & Private Treaty

Through our retail gallery, online store, and presence at philatelic exhibitions, we offer a wide selection of quality stamps, postal history, and manuscripts to a worldwide clientele.

For those sellers seeking the intact placement of their collections, or noteworthy items therefrom, we can facilitate their sale to private collectors. This is of particular benefit to those seeking a discrete sale without the attention of a public auction. Please contact us for details.
