Stampless folded letter, with contents datelined Constantinople, to Leyden, Netherlands, endorsed "port van Texel" and "by Capt Smith D:G:G:" (Die God Geleide, or "Whom God May Guide"), struck on arrival with Arms & Post Horn 6/S (6 stuiver) handstamp of the Amsterdam Texelse Post, established in 1706 to faciliate the conveyance of mails between ships anchored on the Rede and Amsterdam, thence onwards to other destinations, a rare entire of exceptionl quality.
