Stampless folded letter, postmarke Philadelphia "18" (18c debit to France for 1/4oz to 1/2oz letter carried by American contract packet to the U.K.), endorsed 'per Str Hansa from New York", to Stafa, Zurich, "220" in red manuscript being the 220 centimes postage due for the double rate by French convention from July 1862, Zurich (15 Aug) and Stafa (15 Aug) c.d.s. backstamps, some light edge toning, else a fine transatlantic letter.

Folded cover, franked with 15c black Lincoln (Sc. 77), tied by New Orleans c.d.s., to Bordeaux, France, endorsed "per Steamer" and struck on front with red NEW YORK packet d/s (Apr 11) and red ETATS-UNIS SERV. AM. CALAIS entry mark (23 Avril), PARIS A BORDEAUX (23 Avril) TPO transit and further partial French c.d.s. backstamps, a few small edge tears and some toning to stamp, still a scarce and desirable franking; with 1934 (!) Royal Philatelic Society London certificate.

Cover franked with 15c Lincoln, with grill, tied by black killer, postmarked with New Orleans c.d.s. (Jun 30), to Bordeaux, France, with blue Etats Unis entry mark struck on front, backstamped with Paris a Bordeaux TPO (17 Juil) and Bordeaux receiver (18 Juil), U. Marinoni sender's handstamp on front, slightly reduced at right, appears to be just barely touching top two perfs of stamp, some light wrinkling typical of these flimsy envelopes, a nice franking.

Cover franked with 10c brown 1870, tied by intaglio fancy cancel and red New York Foreign Mail cancel (Weiss type TR-W18A), to Paris, France, black GB/10c accountancy and Calais entry c.d.s. (23 Jul) struck on front, no backstamps, a scarce strike, Weiss having recorded only one example, this example believed to bring the total now known to three, with 2004 P.S.E. certificate.

Cover franked with 6c carmine (Sc. 148), tied by black New York Foreign Mail fancy cancel, struck with red "NEW YORK JUN 18 PAID ALL DIRECT" exchange office datestamp (Winter 237), carried on the NGL Line "New York" with boxed Bremen transit struck on front, Coburg Banhofs-Post EXP (7 72) arrival backstamp, Weiss records seven examples dated between 5/6/1872 and 15/6/1872, this not being among them and a new latest recorded date, a rare cancellation and a desirable usage to Germany, with 2003 Philatelic Foundation certificate, it backstamped as ex-Kirke.
