DEC. 63" entry mark struck beside, to Paris, France, with c.d.s. arrival backstamp (4 Dec) and Torino transit, a remarkably late usage, postmarked on the day of issue of the De La Rue adhesives of Italy, and in the last possible month of usage of Sardinian adhesives, wonderfully fresh and very fine; signed Vaccari.

Stampless folded letter, with contents datelined Constantinople, to Leyden, Netherlands, endorsed "port van Texel" and "by Capt Smith D:G:G:" (Die God Geleide, or "Whom God May Guide"), struck on arrival with Arms & Post Horn 6/S (6 stuiver) handstamp of the Amsterdam Texelse Post, established in 1706 to faciliate the conveyance of mails between ships anchored on the Rede and Amsterdam, thence onwards to other destinations, a rare entire of exceptionl quality.
