Cover postmarked Montreal (May 27), to London, England, FECB h/s at left, carried by thee S.S. "Eros" which was torpedoed by a German U-Boat off the coast of Ireland on 7 June, handstamped SALVED FROM THE SEA on front and back, British post office seal on reverse, stamp floated off and usual faults as expected for mail that has survived such circumstances, scarce Second World War disaster mail.

Cover franked with 3c Mufti, tied by Timiskaming duplex (JUL 17), to a LAC with the RCAF, handstamped REPORTED KILLED and RETURN TO SENDER, with postal label on back "It is deeply regretted that the addressee died on war service", Inpsection Section Ottawa, OTTAWA MPO and Diectory Service backstamps, includes printed insert explaining the importance of correctly addressing mail, and letter to LAC McGee regarding the "Citizens of Timiskaming" Cigarette Fund.

Canada 1943 WWII Return Deceased Soldier Military Cover Vancouver 6th Field Park
CP Railways cover franked with 3c War Issue, to Major Hugh Allan MacLean, 6th Field Parks Squadron, postmarked Vancouver (Jul 27), handstamped Return to Sender and endorsed DECEASED, Postal Corps /Directory Service, FPO and Ottawa MPO backstamps. Major MacLean served with the Royal Canadian Engineers, and died 1 September, 1943. He is bured at Brookwood Militay Cemetery, and is commemorated on page 185 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance.

Canada 1943 WWII Y-Force Jamaica Private Soldier’s Handstamp Military Cover
Cover franked with 6d KGVI Pictorial, tied by Kingston machine cancel (8 Jan), to Hamilton, Y Force No. 2 censor handstamp, backstamped with private sender's handstamp "Hon. Major P.J. Dykes / Serial 300 / 'Y" Force / Canadian Army Overseas", the name crossed-out and "Lieutenant Jc.R. Harstone" witten overtop, perhaps the only re-named example extant, vertical filing fold, a scarce and unusual soldier's handstamp, and a rare example from the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders posted in 1943, noted by Ed Richardson in BNA Topics Vol 41, No 5.

Air Letter franked with 10c War Issue, postmarked Ottawa (Mar 20), to F/L Burns, Attached RAF, RCAF Overseas, crossed-out, handstamped RETURN TO SENDER, affixed on back with label "It is deeply regretted that the addressee is reported missing on war service", multiple Canadian Postal Corps backstamps and MPO 304 machine, some wrinkling as expected.
