Romania 1913 SECOND BALKAN WAR Bulgaria Smuggled Ship Due Cover to Switzerland
Cover originating in Russe, Bulgaria, on the Danube, c. July 19, 1913, smuggled behind enemy lines of the invading Romanian army to the Hungarian, now Romanian port of Orsova on the Danube Steamship Company (DDSG) paddlewheel "Albrecht", where it was placed in the mails, franked with 10fi Hungarian definitive, tied by Orsova c.d.s., to Zurich, Switzerland, affixed with 30c Swiss postage due, tied by Zurich c.d.s. (26 VII), the only recorded example of this type of mail carriage, striking and fine, ex Galitz.

Cover franked with 10b definitive, tied by crisp violet c.d.s. of the 6th Primary Staging Area Command (Sep 9), registered to Iasi, no backstamps; ex Galitz.
The Romanian Army and its postal system evacuated Bulgaria by September 1, 1913, and was demobilized on September 13, a scarce usage thus duing the demobilization period.
